As a junior, he was named Second Team All-CIF after making 6 field goals with a long of 51 yards. He also connected on 41 PATs. 86% of his kickoffs were touchbacks. As live of a leg that you will find in high school. He has won every kicking contest west of the Mississippi. 2 Matt Szymanski PK/P 6'1 170 A&M Consolidated Texas Texas A&M Szymanski is the top combo kicker-punter in the nation. He has an unbelievably strong leg, not quite as accurate as Bill Bennett but stronger. He consistently blasts kickoffs 70 yards plus and punts over 40 yards with exceptional hang time. At the Chris Sailer camps he led the nation in both kickoff distance and punting average. He also has excellent 4.6 hang time on his punts. He has shined on the field (First Team All-State) and at other camps as well. Stevens has a live leg, gets his kickoffs high and deep and has excellent accuracy as a field goal kicker. He recorded a remarkable 22 field goals as a junior. He committed to Oklahoma in August. 4 Josh Cherry PK/P/DB 6'0 163 5.06 McCook Nebraska Kansas State Cherry was a First Team Omaha World All-State selection as a junior after going 9 for 13 on filed goal attempts with a long of 52 yards. 80% of his kickoffs went for touchbacks. He has hit from 63 yards in practice. Also a pretty good DB. Cherry committed to Kansas State in March. 5 David Green PK/P 6'1 195 Mission Viejo California Stanford Green is one of the top kickers in California and as a junior was named First Team CIF Southern Section Division II. He has exceptional leg strength. As a junior, 42 of his 79 kick-offs went for touchbacks. He also averaged about 45 yards per punt. 6 Jay Wooten PK/P 6'3 167 5.20 Laurinburg Scotland County North Carolina North Carolina Wooten was a First Team Class 4A All-State selection as a junior after registering 8 field goals and 43 PATs. 7 Stephen Hoge PK/P 6'4 180 Oklahoma City Putnam City North Oklahoma What a year for kickers in Oklahoma City, with Hoge joining Stevens among the nation's elite. Unlike Stevens, who is short and compact, Hoge is tall and powerful, with an even more live leg than Stevens. He also is right there with Stevens in termns of accuracy. As a sophomore, Hoge connected on 10 of 11 field goals including a 44-yarder against powerful Jenks in the state Class 6A semis. 8 Michael Taylor PK 5'10 175 Pensacola Washington Florida A First Team All-Pensacola Area selection as a junior after connecting on 41 of 44 PATs and 12 of 17 field goals with a long of 57 yards. Great leg strength. 28 of his 62 kickoffs went for touchbacks. An All-Northwest Florida selection as a junior. Has also shined at national kicking camps. 9 Radi Jabouri PK 5'11 165 Reserve East St. John Louisiana Jabouri was a First Team Class 5A All-State selection as a junior after conecting on 5 of 7 field goals with a long of 56 yards. He also connected on 40 of 42 PATs. 97% of his kick-offs were touchbacks. Strong-legged and exceptionally accurate. 10 Alex Tejada PK 6'1 180 Springdale Arkansas Arkansas Last years senior class was loaded with talent at Springdale, led by superstar QB Mitch Mustain. This years class isn't nearly as talented, however there are still several legit D-I prospects, including kicker Alex Tejeda. As a junor, he didn't get a chance to kick many field goals as the state champs pretty much scored TDs at will. When he did, he was just 2 for 5 as the attempts were from way out. His long was 55 yards. On kickoffs, and there were many, he consistently put the ball into the back of the endzone and the opposing team's average starting position was the 17-yard line. As a sophomore, he was 7 of 14 on field goals with a long of 47 yards and had 75% of his kickoffs go into the end zone. He was perfect on 66 PAT's. He has hit a 65-yarder in practice. 11 Brook Van Muijen PK/P 5'11 170 Danville Monte Vista California Van Muijen was a First Team Junior All-Stater and Second Team San Francisco Chronicle All-Metro selection as a junior. 12 Dave Kuncio PK 6'0 190 Oradell Bergen Catholic New Jersey Kuncio was a First Team All-State selection as a junior. He had 24 touchbacks and six field goals, including a long of 50 yards. He was also 34-of-36 on extra points. As a sophomore, he connected on five of six field goals, with a long of 46 yards. He has been very impressive at various kicking combines. 1-AP-AS
13 Adi Kunalic PK 6'0 175 4.67 North Crowley Texas A First Team All-District selection as a junior, Kunalic is an athletic kicker with a very strong and powerful leg. As a junior, he kicked a 57-yard field goal with the wind at his back. His previous long (with no wind) was 53 yards. 14 Andrew Crutchfield PK &'0 180 Concord Northwest Cabarrus North Carolina LSU Crutchfield is ranked by kicking guru Chris Sailer as one of the top 10 kickers in the nation. He is very mechanically sound and accurate as a kicker. Also a very good punter. As a junior, he was 39 of 42 on PATs and 5 of 9 on field goals. 85% of his kick-offs were touchbacks. He committed to LSU in August and is expected to handle kick-offs for the Tigers. Offers: LSU, AZST
15 Charles "Wes" Byrum PK/P 6'3 195 4.70 Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas Florida Auburn Byrum is a talented combo-kicker and one of the best overall kickers in the south. He plays for a very strong Aquinas program. He gets nice hang time on his punts and has a very strong leg on kick-offs. He committed to Auburn in September. Offers: COL, AUB
16 David Teggart PK 6'1 215 5.00 Algonquin Regional Massachusetts Connecticut Teggart is the top kicker in Massachusetts and one of the best in the East. He has looked exceptional at kicking camps, crushing a 55-yarder while showing excellent accuracy and range. As a junior, he connected on 5 of 7 field goals (47, 47, 38, 36, and 27 yards) and on all 17 PAT attempts. He punted 40 times for an average of 41 yards per punt. As a sophomore, he was 6-for-9 on field goals and 16-for-17 on PATs. He punted 61 times for a 38-yard average. His father kicked at New Hampshire. He committed to Connecticut in June. Offers: UCONN
17 Brandon Walker PK/P 6'1 176 Findlay Ohio Louisville Walker was a a First Team Division I All-State kicker as a junior. He has a very strong leg and is exceptioanlly accurate inside the 50. As a junior, he made 9-of-12 field goal attempts with a long of 50-yards. He also made 43-of-45 extra point attempts. He averaged 37.4 yards per punt. Indiana was the first school to offer him. 18 Chris Hinkebein PK 6'2 165 Charlotte Providence North Carolina Virginia Hinkebein is a strong-legged kicker. As a junior, Hinkebein connected on 7-of-9 field goal attempts with a long of 52 yards and made 47-of-49 PATs. He also put 44 kickoffs into the endzone. 19 Josh Jasper PK/P 6'0 165 4.50 Memphis Ridgeway Tennessee LSU A First Team Class A All-Stater as a junior after connecting on 53-of-55 extra points and an impressive 17-of-21 field goals. Has a strong and very accurate leg. Also very athletic, with nice size, strength and speed. 20 Sal DiMauro PK 6'3 180 Boca Raton Florida A Third Team Class 4A All-State selection as a junior, DiMauro made 38 of 40 PATs and was an impressive 13 of 14 on field goals, including a long of 52 yards. 21 Shea Brewster PK 5'11 160 A&M Consolidated Texas Baylor Very few kickers receive D-I scholarship offers. Even more unusual is when that kicker is only a second-stringer on his high school team. That's the case with Shea Brewster. He just hapens to be second team to All-Everything kicker/punter Matt Szymanski. He has, however, impressed in camps, including booming kickoffs into the back of the endzone at a Baylor camp. He committed to Baylor in June. Offers: BAY
22 Devin Sabina PK 5'11 175 4.90 Lawrenceville Central Gwinnett Georgia Devin has one of the best legs in the South. As a junior, he made 12 of 15 field goals with three over 50 yardfs and a long of 52 yards (twice). He also averaged about 41 yards a punt and 80% of his kicks went for touchbacks. He earned Fist Team All-County honors.
23 Jaime Hernandez PK/P 6'1 240 5.10 Lufkin Texas A First Team Class 5A All-State selection as a junior, he connected on 12-of-14 FGs with a long of 47, and 39-of-42 PATs. He consistently put kickoffs in the endzone and gets great height on his kicks and punts. As a sophomore, he had 9 field goals and 47 PATs. 1-AP-5A-AS (K); 1-District 14-5A (PK)
24 Travis Baltz PK/P 6'2 175 Whitehouse Anthony Wayne Ohio Maryland Has one of the strongest and most accurate legs in the midwest. He committed to Maryland in August. Offers: MD
25 Rockne Belmonte PK 5'11 180 Grand Rapids Central Catholic Michigan Belmonte is the top kicker in Michigan this year. As a junior, he connected on 48 of 51 PATs and 10 of 13 field goals with a long of 47 yards. 24 of his 81 kick-offs went for touchbacks. 26 Kevin Goessling PK/P 5'11 168 5.38 Anaheim Servite California Goessling has been very impressive both on the field and at various kicking camps. As a junior, he had 11 kick-offs and 9 touchbacks, 34 PATs and was 8 of 15 on field goals, with longs of 40, 40, 38 and 37 yards. Also punts. Left-footed.
27 Donny Lemieux PK 5'11 175 4.80 Gardner Massachusetts One of the top kickers on the east coast. As a junior, he made 10 of 12 field goals (long of 42 yards) and 26 of 27 PATs. Also had 41 touchbacks. Has kicked a 60-yard field goal in practice. One of the nation's strongest legs. Top 15 MA JRs (August 2005)
28 Alesandro Te PK Hickory North Carolina Strong-legged kicker who has emerged as one of the best on the atlantic coast. Rated by some as among the top 10 kickers in the nation.
29 Alex Zendejas PK 6'0 170 Glendale Ironwood Arizona A First Team Class 5A All-State selection as a junior. As a sophomore he had a 48-yard field goal. As a junior, he hit on a school record 56-yarder. Great bloodlines as his father kicked in college as did three well-known uncles (Luis-Arizona State, Dallas Cowboys, Max-Arizona, Washington Redskins and Allen-Arizona State) 1-Arizona Republic-5A-AS; 1-5A2-AS
30 Taylor Caldwell PK 6'0 180 Laurel Mississippi A three-sport athlete (socer, beseball) with a great, great leg. Consistently kicked the ball through the back of the end zone as a junior. He had 4 field goals (long of 41 yards) and 24 PATs. One of the top kickers in the south.
31 Charlie Edwards PK/P 6'0 190 Tifton Tift County Georgia First Team Class AAAAA All-State kicker as a junor after hitting on 18 of 24 field goals and 19 of 23 PATs. 33 Ryan Novak PK 6'0 214 5.70 Marcellus New York As a junior, Novak kicked field goals of 37 and 31 yards and had 6 touchbaks. He has tremendous leg strength and gets the ball up very high. He was the top kicker at the 2005 Syracuse summer camp and looked very, very good at the U.S. Army combine in San Antonio.
34 Brandon Berry PK 6'0 170 Blackville Hilda South Carolina First Team All-State kicker as a sophomore after connecting on 63 of 65 PATs and 7 of 11 field goals with long of 43 yards. 36 Ian McGarvey PK/P 5'10 175 Greenwood Center Grove Indiana A strong-legged kicker and punter whose modest 2005 stats (26 of 30 on PATs and 2 of 4 on field goals with a long of 28 yards) bely an exceptional leg. Talented enought to either kick or punt at the D-I level, even though he only kicked as a junior. Also plays soccer. Looked exceptional at various kicking camps.
37 Erik Folk PK/P 5'8 190 Sherman Oaks Notre Dame California Has emerged as one of the top kickers on the west coast. Plays for a strong program and has a nice leg, getting great height on his kicks.
38 Andrew Knight PK Raytown South Missouri Probably the top kicker in Missouri. Has a tremendous leg and was very impressive already during the 2005 combine circuit, booting field goals with regularity from 55 yards out. 1-Suburban 6
39 Matt Myers PK 5'11 183 Corona Santiago California One of the better kickers in California. As a junior, 20 of his 64 kickoffs went for touchbacks. He was 33 for 33 on PATs and hit on 11 field goals (longs of 47, 40, 37 and 37 yards). Nice leg.
40 Kyle Dougherty PK/QB 5'8 145 Merritt Island Florida Dougherty has looked very good at veraous kicking camps, kicking a long field goal of 50 yards at one camp. At one camp, he had a 63 yards kick-off average and 3.5 hang time. As a junior, he made 31 of 34 PATs and 3 of 6 field goals (20, 21 and 32 yards). He also had 23 touchbacks. One of the top kickers in Florida.
41 Eric Buchanan PK Green Cove Springs Clay Florida Was rated as one of the top three kickers at the Ray Guy kicking camp. Very strong leg.
